The Argentina international and the Portugal attacker have both made the cut, with Bayern Munich dominating the attacking shortlist
The shortlist for the forwards in Fifa's FIFPro World XI has been announced, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi leading the way.
The Real Madrid star and his Barcelona counterpart both impressed throughout 2014 and have been rewarded with an inclusion in the 15-man list of candidates.
The nominations for the side are dominated by Bayern Munich, who have four representatives. Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski have all made the cut for the Bundesliga champions.
Meanwhile, aside from Messi, fellow Barcelona stars Luis Suarez and Neymar have been selected, while Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale represent the Madrid contingent alongside Ronaldo.
Sergio Aguero, Wayne Rooney, Diego Costa, Marco Reus and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are the remaining five players who are in the race for a spot in the FIFPro World XI.
Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic and Messi were last year's FIFPro World XI forwards.
